There’s a difference between a boat that’s clean and a boat that’s been detailed. A wash gets the surface grime off. A detail gets into every corner, brings back the shine on oxidized gelcoat, protects the finish with proper wax, and makes the whole thing look like you actually care about it — because you do.
We do the deep kind of detailing. Compound and polish to cut through years of oxidation. Multi-stage wax application for UV protection that lasts through the season. We clean and treat vinyl, clean hardware, and get into all the places that accumulate grime over the winter. If your boat’s been under a tarp since October, it needs more than a hose-down before launch day.
Teak is the other thing we get a lot of calls about. Teak rails, swim platforms, trim pieces, cockpit sole — they all go gray and dried out if they’re not maintained. We sand them back to bare wood, seal them properly, and bring back that warm honey color that makes teak look so good. Proper sealant (not varnish, unless you really want to commit to the maintenance) holds up through the season and makes the wood look alive again.
A lot of people think detailing is just cosmetic. It is — but it’s also protective. Good wax keeps your gelcoat from breaking down in the sun. Sealed teak doesn’t absorb water and crack. A clean boat is a boat that lasts longer. It’s maintenance that happens to look great.
